Full Paediatric First Aid 12 Hour Couse

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HSE AND THE CONDITIONS OF THE EYFS DURING CORONA MEANS THAT YOU HAVE BEEN GRANTED A 3 MONTH EXTENSION FROM THE DATE YOU CERTIFICATE HAS RUN OUT, SO YOU WILL NOT BE IN BREACH OF YOUR INSURANCE OR EYFS REQUIREMENTS
1 Day practical and 1 day eLearning.
We are EYFS trained professionals who also offer Paediatric First Aid to our early years settings across the UK.
Our Paediatric First Aid training meets the requirements of the EYFS 2017 (page 36 annexe A)

Our PFA course has been designed to ensure that the needs of the EYFS are fully met so that childcare practitioners working within the EYFS can be sure that they are meeting the requirements as stipulated in the EYFS 2017. The course will last for a minimum of 12 hours and half of those hours are spent accessing direct practical training in the classroom.
The course IS accepted by OFSTED and by all Ofsted Regulated Agencies such as the Rutland Early Years Agency
We have our own eLearning platform where you will undertake your Paediatric First Aid theory. Once you have been registered onto the course you will receive within 24 hours your unique login details along with the website link. Online training is accessed via www.training4earlyyears.co.uk and you can work through each module at your own pace. We are also on hand to support you throughout this process so you are not alone.
By the end of the eLearning course you will have acquired the knowledge and skills to deal effectively with differing paediatric first aid situations. You will be able to:
- describe the roles and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider
- assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take,
- provide first aid for an infant or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally, unresponsive and not breathing normally, choking, suffering from minor injuries and suffering from childhood illness that could cause a life threatening situation.
- Allergic Reactions including anaphylaxis
- Burns and scalds
- Meningitis and fever
- Respiratory conditions
- seizures including febrile convulsions and epilepsy
You must complete the eLearning course preferably before attending the practical tutor led course. You will also receive a recap of the eLearning course on the day of the module.
Day 2 - Tutor Led Practical
Once you have completed your online element you will then attend the Practical element of the course. There is no need to bring evidence of your online theory as we will already know whether you have passed this part or not. Once your practical element is completed and you have filled out all relevant paperwork on the day you trainer will inform you whether or not you have passed the course. Once you have passed you will be able to log into your account via www.training4earlyyears.co.uk and your certificate will be ready for download. If you opting for accreditation (£9 charge payable) your certificate will be sent via the post.
During the practical element of the course we will cover:
- Recap of the eLearning including roles and responsibilities of the First Aider
- Planning for emergencies
- The Primary and Secondary Assessment
- Recovery Position
- Resuscitation and CPR
- shock including hypovolemic shock and anaphylactic Shock
We are an accredited centre and members of the CPD certification service.
The practical elements of the course will include various activities that you will be required to undertake such as demonstrating your abilities in CPR and choking, therefore it is essential that you wear clothes that are suitable and will not hinder your ability to perform such demonstrations.
Please ensure that your bring with you your Lunch. However, refreshments and snacks are available at the venue.
Please note that you MUST NOT SMOKE or VAPE on the premises (this includes outside the doorways). If you wish to smoke you can leave the premises and there is a canal to the left of property with a seating an area.
We do not provide (unless accredited) delegates with a manual as we find that these are left on a shelf and become unused. However, in the era of the smart phone and technology we ask you to download a first aid APP which you will have at your finger tips.
